I've finally changed my CD-6 face to blue, and added some LEDs in the A/C vents:

I finally wired and installed, with much help from Q, and assistance from TremorJon and FLPanther, my 98 taillights:

Also, after seeing TremorJon's, I purchased a slip-on leather steering wheel cover for $10 at Advanced Discount Auto, but unhappy w/ the "slip on" feel of it, I bought some heavy duty thread and stitched it together on either side of the 4 steering wheel spokes. It looks alot less "add-onish" now.

Also, TremorJon got me a dark gray Mustang dome light.

As for now, my Speed Grilles are on order (Fed Ex tried to deliver the valance today, the upper grille is on backorder) and I think some type of exhaust may be in my very near future.

Cool. My G/F spilled a beer in my truck...that's about it.

I just hope I don't get pulled over....

Barney -- "Is that beer I smell?"

Me -- "Why yes, yes it is"

Barney -- "Gimme sum" J/K

Because I like them better. *shrug*

That and they match my amber high turn signals, and my amber corners, which I will never change.

I figured you would have gone with the 2000 all red tails (except for the white reverse)

hey man that headunit definately looks much better in blue than green.. as far as those tail lights, how hard were they to get to fit in there?? was it just rewiring, or did you have to refit it into the body... either way tho, they turned out really well!

The taillights were direct bolt-ins, but required extensive rewiring.

You got it bro, just buy your LEDs in advance, RadioShack is notorious for having 0-2 of each LED in stock. Remind me a few days before to bring my soldering pen.

Whats going on with TOTM????

Hey could someone send me the link(s) to do some of the LED mods? I had them @ one time, but have since lost them. I need to do the fog light LED, the Cruise control LED, and whatever else there is. Thanks. They look good.

The LED master's page has quite a bit of info on it:

hmmm....I may be the man, BUT I haven't changed my CD6 to blue. How did you do that, Brian??? Did you change out the LED's and where did you get a blue face for the display?

If I was TRULY the master, my CD6 would be blue also!

I parted out a CD6 from a Lincoln Aviator for its white LEDs (I swapped the whole board) and its white (actually soft pink) display lense, then carefully cut some blue theatrical lighting gel to fit. Only downside is that the circuit board for the Lincoln CD6 was a little different; everything works except the "comp" button, but that feature is still accessible through the menu.

Unless his CD6 is different from mine, it has green LED's. Putting a blue gel over green LED's would result in very little light getting out since LED's are fairly monochromatic.

My whole dash is red and blue with a blue EATC console and overhead console, etc -- only the radio remains green because I'm too lazy to change out the LED's. It's a pain with equipment I have because they are surface mount.

Also, that green filter over the display is shaped and contoured and it would be difficult to fabricate I should think.

Inquiring minds want to know!!!

well the actually LCD display lights up a very soft green, the pink is to offset it and make it look white again.

I was going to just change the LEDs, but I couldn't find a source for surface-mount blue LEDs. My roommate builds robots as a hobby, he could def. do the soldering.
