Well, from the looks of this post, there is a gripe about healthcare mixed in w/this mess w/unoins and the big corporations. Yes, I agree that the cost of healthcare for for the working AMERICAN!!!!!(THIS IS NOT GETTING RACIAL). I fully respect the opinions of my fellow RF members, but I disagree w/the idea that healthcare is designed only for the rich. There is a real problem when someone that isn't a citizen, thus non American, can get free healthcare. At who's expence? Somebody else is going to have to flip the bill. Insurance, doctors, and hospitals all cost out the butt. Why!!! That's the million dollar question. There is a growing problem w/insurance fraud that is going up. This is costing insurance companies a lot of money. Doctors face a big problem w/malpractice lawsuits. Many doctors have closed their practices or even left the field, or practice in a different state. There is a big shortage of nurses. Hospitals are having to deal lawsuits like doctors. They both are having to pay dearly for malpractice insurance. They either close their doors or raise their costs. Not only is this a service provided by physicians and hospitals alike, it is likewise a business. They have to make a living like everyone else. This drives up the cost for the everyday woking American. Frivolous lawsuits and insurance fraud is costing this country millions if not billions. That is what's making healthcare so expensive. I think this was w/General Motors aq while back that the union workers felt that they should pay a lesser amount of their insurance premium and GM should pay more of it or they'll strike(please correct me if I'm wrong and I apologize). No wonder companies are going bankrupt, people nowdays want something for nothing and that everyone else should pay it for them. Combine that with the fact that the automakers still have to pay the salaries and benefits no matter what. This all trickles down the average person.
