I'm wanting to put a 3" suspension lift but I'm being told it will throw engine codes because of that "TRACTION CONTROL" any help or suggestions???

3" bodylift, pre 2008 torsion bar keys, 4" superlift and you could find a used RCD 5" lift

Depending on how much you know about rangers, I'll rewrite BLK02's advice.

3" bodylift - easy install, very affordable. Rangers are lucky in that the bodylift looks pretty natural (once you cover the inside fender gaps) unlike chevys which you really see the frame with one.

Torsion bar keys - ehh..I don't know much about them but I wouldn't waste my time personally.

4" Superlift - Very common. Costs 1500 I think. Sometimes deals can be found for it though. Drops the your front suspension 4 inches as well as your torsion bars (the bar on the front end that goes back. Some people go an extra step and convert it to "coilover suspension" for about 800 dollars I think.

5" RCD kit - pretty much the benefit here was it was a coilover kit and sometimes they get sold. They are good kits except coilover springs do wear out so they might need replaced.

All in all, if you're going for looks, best option is a body lift + new wheels and tires.

Thanks to all. I've only found the 4" superlift. Called the manufacturer & he told me he doesn't recommend it. it will throw codes? So not sure already have the 3" body lift bigger tires stayed with a 16" wheel I like more rubber than steel. I like going on occasional trail rides & LOVE MUD BOGGIN

Ford told you that? the guy honestly doesnt know what hes talking about. all a superlift really does is lower the lower control arms. 100% factory geometry. I have also seen it on plenty of 2011+ rangers.

No. Superlift told me that. I called superlift talked to the guy he told me its not recommended due to throwing traction control codes.

hes probably thinking about the new sensors in the unit bearings for roll stability. The 2011+knuckles are identicle which is why the superlift will work, the tcs is read off the rear axle/braking system.
