So on my way back from the beach today I had been talking on the phone and crusing, when I got off I decided it was time to quit going 5 under the limit. I got passed by a Porsche and ended up crusing in the left lane at 85-90ish for a good 15 minutes. After this I had to slow down for a toll booth that was way backed up. I was in line then they opened up the line next to it so I started over and as I was accelerating the truck started slow and would jolt faster by increments (slow, jolt faster, accelerate a little, then jolt again faster: like hitting v-tec in a honda but 3 times). It did that and then after the toll booth it was a ***** to accelerate past 30mph and then when I got off at the stop lights it would start very slow and then jolt into normal acceleration like something was sticking or like in a car when there transmission slips a lot and then jolts into gear except the engines rpms weren't going up before the jolt so not a transmission problem.

Sorry for the long run ons but hopefully you can understand what I'm saying and possibly diagnose what happened.

 

Sounds like my truck when the fuel filter was clogged. Power, no power, enough fuel gets past for the engine to make power again then it uses it all up and there is no power again.

If you haven't changed it in a long while, try that.

 

Actually I've been meaning to do that for a while, and that would explain it since I'm not usually riding close to full throttle.

And It's back to normal but I'll change the fuel filter encase I need to do any high speed driving again.

 

Just replace the fuel filter and that seemed to fix it. Thanks.
