Front Bumper, Covers?
Has anyone replaced the wiper arms on their truck? I mean the metal part that holds the wiper blade. Not the part atttached to the truck with the spring in it and attached with the big bolt. Just the wiper 'arm'. I think thats what you call it. I am tired of replacing the blade every few months. I get one to clean and the other chattters. Then they both chattter, or they smudge. So I was thinking maybe I need to replace the arm. I was going to go with the Bosch ones. But these things are like $15 a piece! Is that normal? Or should I just go to Ford and pay their high price? Seems like the makers of wipers is getting smaller and smaller..especially with these thin wiper blades we have!
Not many makers to chose from. But this Bosch one has been around a while. So hopefully replacement wiper blades will be around for a while too.
Anyone use some other brand that is better???

i use bosch ones myself. the secret to making them last longer is to clean with with a damp papertowel at least once a month. that will keep the the streaks away. but the chatter is about the quality of the rubber you are using. when the wiper sits on your truck one way, it leans the blade to one side. cheaper rubber will actually stick that way, which is why it will wipe fine going down, but chatter going up. the way to stop that is to get some higher quality blades, preferably silicone ones. bosch is very good, like i said its what i use, and as long as you keep them clean they should last for a while. ford factory blades are TRICO, which you can get at some part stores for much cheaper than the dealer.

I used the Bosch blades for years, and found them to be about the best around, but got tired of replacing them every 4-6 months. I broke down and bought a set of PIAA silicone blades. These are pricey [20$ ish per blade], but well worth it! Next month will be a full year that they have been on and they are like the day I bought them, quiet as can be and still clean evenly. They stay flexible no matter how cold it gets, they even run quiet when used dry in freezing temperatures. They leave an invisible silicone "film" on the windshield that kind of acts like Rain-X. I can't recommend them enough, and will never use anything else. Check 'em out...

I found the angle you leave them at affects the longevity as well. I tried to lower mine as far as they would go, without them hitting the bottom weatherstripping, but they only last about 1-2 months. Seems half the blade was bent against the windshielf, and the other half had almost no contact pressure. Long story short, when you add the Texas heat/sun, they didn't last too long that way. So make sure you place the arm back on so that the blades are almost parallel, and with the cleaning tips above, they should last as long as possible.
