Fx4 Level II no more

Fx4 Level II no more
I know this isn't much news to us, but I was always under the impression that the '08 Fx4 would still have all the options as a Level 2. But that is not the case. While at work I was going through a 2008 MYV build book and it showed the Fx4, but the alcoas are gone, and from what I have read else where the bilstein's have been replaced with Rancho's, and the torsen LS is a stand a lone option.
I would say if you are thinking about getting a ranger, get a loaded '07 L2.

IMO, the Torsen was a Joke as well, It always acted like a One wheel wonder when I needed limited slip. Stopped in the snow, or in mud. The only place it worked like it was supposed to was burnouts and I did those about as much as I've dated super models! Ford and Limited slip, is a Crappy combo. The only time it worked was when I was on the freeway doing 70 and it tried to drive the rearend to the front.
All of the weakness' of a LS, none of the strengths IMO.

Its official... i just grabbed the 2008 Ranger booklet from my Ford Dealership... the Level II is no more... Just the Sport, XLT, XL, and FX4. No more alcoa's, or Bilsteins, Torsen Differential is still there as an upgrade option, and Rancho shocks. The sport gets a new grille as well... "Unique Horizontal-Slat Grille" i definately like it, a lot like the grille in rongs truck, only wider slats. The Foglights have also been changed to circular lights, like the Ranger from Latin America. I'll try to scan some of this book and post it up on here.

*Bends wrist* I just hate it when I go to pick up groceries and my limited-slip doesn't engage, silly.
Anyone want a testimonial on the Torsen that beats the snot out of their truck?

Yeah My truck was babied, and I put evian in the washer reservoir!
Oh and I still contend Torsens are junk. Eaton FTW!
It says right on the website that if a wheel loses most of the traction the other wheel will recieve no power. Not exactly a recipe for good offroading. I had it in the shop three times because I thought it wasn't working and they told me it was Perfect. There were only two times it worked like it was supposed to, On Ice =Recipe for spinning out, and during burnouts = Pointless but Cool. Go over to the Impala site and see what they think of Torsen's (GM used them too) not too many glowing reviews.

I guess, but whats the point if it can't even help you through a snow bank? Why the extra cost then? Plus it is embarrasing when You are stuck in the parking lot trying to drive onto the lake cause only one wheel will spin on the sheer ice. Well your buddy in his POS Dodge gets through it just fine. <--- True story. He looks at my truck and laughs going "I thought you had a posi <--Dodge guy doesn't know better" and all I can say is" Yeah so Did I!" While one wheel is spinning in a spot that my Cadillac wouldn't have a problem getting through.
