squeaky front end
Recently my truck is so squeaky. Whenever I go over bumps or turn the steering, it loudly squeaks. EVERYONE knows I'm coming. I can't drive with stealth anymore. I really want to get it fixed.
I asked a couple of guys, they say it's nothing bad, that sometimes when vehicles age they get squeaky like that.
I'm wondering if any of you guys have encountered this also and were you able to get it fixed and quiet again?
I used to love the nice quiet turns.

just fixed mine inadvertently by replacing uper control arms with ball joints..tie rod ends and lower ball joints and no more squeak
IMO I think its partly the rubber boot on the end of your tie rod shears away then its metal on metal as you steer...AND the up and down is the slight play in a bootless ball joint verticaly

the reason you need the arm too is because Ford is mean, They used parts that weren't all that serviceable, so when they went bad. they had to be replaced. I hope the ones they install on your truck are grease-able. otherwise you'll be back here again when those ones decide to squeak.

Thanks so much guys. I took it to the mechanic, he said the ball joints are bad. It's at the shop right now getting repaired. Costing $490, but it's something that has got to get done. It's at 82,000 miles. Is that around the approximate mileage when you all noticed squeaking too?
