Second, I was giving those as examples of things that have already occurred. The simple fact that despite the last 5 years, car manufacturers haven't devoted any resources to making more efficient cars. Now that the people are calling for change, I'm hoping that we can someday hope for a car that can produce 200 Wheel HP and still get 50 MPG Highway.

First off, regardless of unit of measure (liter or gallon) other countries pay more than the US. I can start busting out the math if you want me too.
