Some vehicles already come equipped with both of your examples...

As for gas prices, i've seen anywhere from $3.22 to $3.44 here. It was $3.65 for diesel yesterday.
First off, regardless of unit of measure (liter or gallon) other countries pay more than the US. I can start busting out the math if you want me too.

Second, I was giving those as examples of things that have already occurred. The simple fact that despite the last 5 years, car manufacturers haven't devoted any resources to making more efficient cars. Now that the people are calling for change, I'm hoping that we can someday hope for a car that can produce 200 Wheel HP and still get 50 MPG Highway.

Then we're on the same page as for the price, I know they pay more in other countries. I'm allergic to math.

As for more efficient cars, didn't GM just release the Volt?
