I never said anything about rioting.

I honestly dont want to turn this into a political tirade/debate, so lets please keep it centered around gas prices and how much they suck

Like most of us our income depend on getting to our jobs. I believe if the cost of gas goes back into the $5.00 per gallon range we're going to see massive lay-offs again.... I've been employed at the same company for 24 years next month, over the past two years in this economy we went down to 75% off our seniority list till around the middle of September last year. They called back everyone they could get in contact with that wanted to come back. The longest laid-off were 22 months. It is amazing though, reading what most people believe this is a "No Win Situation". I never smoked so the cost of a pack of cigarettes never made me say "WTF" to anyone. The cost to take public transportation is another "WTF" issue to lots of people. This is just one website where we all have one idea in common...the Ford Ranger. Form the total over the top rock crawlers to the slammed street prowling machines......there wont be many of us doing much of anythings if we can't afford buying anything else but basics. Most everything we buy revolves around the cost of a barrel of crude oil and OPEC controls that.

Good Luck,

thanks, I could not find anything about the real meaning of OPEC so I went back a deleted that. It was developed in the 60's to allow mexico, canada, and anyone else drilling for oil that wanted to climb on board the OPEC train. They wanted to fix oil prices so they all could profit. Fixing the price is what they did...at what ever they want. I remember in the early 70's we're were on vacation driving thru Texas (going to 6 flags) my dad had a 69 Plymouth station wagon with 7 people in it and he could only get 5 gallons of gas per stop. In Texas...then the oil capital of the world...only 5 gallons, I think it was 0.75 cents then. Now you can get it as much as you want on any corner you drive past. What's the price on a bushel of wheat, corn, or the almighty American Armed Forces protecting those ports.

Thanks again, and your right the sooner I can move out of Illinois (Crook County especially) the farther my dollar will go.

filled up last week at 3.03 at costco. its 3.12 to 3.19 everywhere else. However much like a smoker when the cost of cigs go up, i will cut back other vices in my life to drive if the cost of gas goes up.

That or i'll drink more and drive less.

Do you guys not remember what gas prices were like a little over two years ago, or are most of the people here like 16? lol

I remember putting gas in my sport trac and the pump always shutting off at $75 i think. Had to swipe the card and start again.

haha i was thinking the same thing Brian. It wasnt that long ago I went to the dunes and paid 5.20 a gallon for diesel the whole way. I think it was 125-145 to fill it. (not my diesel but I was borrowing it). I almost had to swipe the card 3 times. haha

I definitely remember, made fueling with a government gas card a pain. Had twice the paperwork.

I remember driving my Sport Trac from Oregon to Kentucky during that time period, pulling a trailer at 10mpg with premium. That was an expensive trip.

Everyone who doesn't like it should go trade in their trucks for econoboxes again so truck prices drop.
