Gasbuddy.com lets help members

Ok i was in Speech and a girl did it on gas prices. well there is a site called www.gasbuddy.com which threw that site will link you to a site that has YOUR local gas prices posted by people in your city. start helping out and post on it and find cheap gas...thats all discuss now...

ya we have www.detroitgasprices.com but this site helps people find local sites if they dont know of one it really helps...anything to stick it to the oil company's

December of 03' gas was just hitting 1.40 around here.. damn, i knew 2003 was a good year.

I don't think any website or person is going to be capable of finding 'cheap' gas. Really, is saving 2 or 3 cents per gallon making a functional difference in anyone's wallet? No.

I can save up to 10-15 cents depending on were i buy gas, sometimes it is worth the extra 5 min's down the highway to get outside city limits.

Hmmm... there's only two kinds of gas stations in my area... $2.99 and $2.94

^ thats what ive been doing, i dont go to random places anymore... like i used to drive around looking for spots to take photos.. not anymore...i only go somewhere if i can go somewhere else i need to go in that region..

um then you didnt give it a try up here its updated everyday. the range in gas prices in our town is around 2.76-2.95 for 87. and i know the 2.76 is right because i filled up there this morning so why be so negative when this could help you...gezz... how about next time leave your comment to yourself thanks

How about calm down and don't get your panties in a bunch over nothing, thanks. Sheesh.

(And I did go on and check it before I commented).

If you save yourself 10 cents per gallon, that would come out to about $1.70 in savings. That is about a 1/2 a gallon of gas. That is about 8 miles of travel for the average 16mpg our trucks get. So in the end, you drive all over kingdom come to get to the gas station that is 10 cents less and you've effectively cancelled out your savings, maybe even spent more.

My point is, there is very little difference when it comes to the major gas stations. We all know that the corner mom & pop station is going to be an arm and leg more due to lower volume, I don't need a website to tell me that and it skews the results making the gap look bigger than it really is.

we have one here too (dallasgasprices.com/). this is for regular. i have to buy premium so add 20 cents/gal. i only put 10-20 miles per day on my truck so it's not hurting to bad. still that's money i could be spending on mods.

hey! that $1.70 looks alot nicer in my pocket than theirs!

around here tho, stations are paying $2.96 a gallon, that what kwik fill is paying for a gallon of gas on the WHOLESALE market. heh. gas stations are LOSING money on gasoline, only cause the bigger stations would put them under if they tried to price themselves to break even. to break even a gas station NEEDS to make 13 cents on a gallon, JUST TO BREAK EVEN.

thats a 1.70 i would take thanks being all the cheap gas stations are on the way for me going to work anyways it helps to see which one i should stop at...idk what your problem is of not having to worry about saving some money here and there wish i had your salary then...

its amazing you post something to help people save even a dime and yet one person has to be like its not worth it...thanks for being glass half empty on the thread

Fireranger, You're thinking of one tank of gas. Think of hte longterm. The gas savings are definately worth it. You ***** about gas prices but saving money is too hard? And isn't it more efficient to plan out your trip exactly? Instead of driving until you need gas.

Why don't you hop into hthe <2k threads and explain with your logic how getting 1 mpg only saves 2 $ a tank sucks. your logic sucks!

Ever set out on a drive across town or to a different town and wondered "Hey, I have to fill up pretty soon, but I could probably make it to Xyz before I have to. I wonder if gas is going to be cheaper there than it is here?" I do it all the time. I hop in the truck and set out for the ~50 mile drive to my GF's place wondering if I should fill up here, there, or somewhere in between. Sometimes I roll the dice and win, sometimes I roll the dice and loose. In the end, you're right, it's a couple bucks either way. But if I knew the prices at each station along my route before I left, I could have saved those few bucks w/o any skin off my back..

That is the reason sites like this are helpful!
