a gift or curse....the twin sticks
most ranger owners that i know covet the twin sticks that '02 FX-4s and '03 LvL 2 FX-4s, like the one o have on my '03. but im thinking its not such a great thing to have cos when looking at the few lift kits that are availible for '98-up rangers, nobody seems to have provisions for those who have manual-shifting T-cases, aka twin shifters. i know i wouldnt be able to do a 3" bodylift cos it would prevent me from using my t-case shifter cos it would be too low to be useable. im not sure if i would have the same problems with the suspension lifts, but i would have to research. SAS'd rangers i know wouldnt have a problem cos there's someone on the forum who has a SAS'd '02 FX-4 with twin-sticks.
does anyone who have the twin sticks and have suspenion lifts here? if so, what units do you use or what did you have to do to make your t-case shifter useable

An extension alone will not fix the problem with the t-case shifter and a body lift on the 02/03's. There just isn't any extra available fore/aft room inside the shifter boot/bezel/tunnel plate. Those parts would need to be modded or replaced to allow full travel of the lever, regardless of whether it has been extended or not.

just like bob said i have helped BODY LIFT a twin stick... I NEVER NEVER NEVER recommend it EVER!!
problem one.. like bob said after lift even with extension.. the shifter is now at different angles you need to cut out the floor more.. also the bezel will NOT work they hit and WILL rip both boots..
its a nightmare form hell i tell you
NOW SUSPENSION lifts... DO NOT AT ALL effect the shifters in any way...
first think about what you are saying.. you are moving the front suspension parts not the t-case so why in hell would it be a problem.. the shifter to body never changers...
all Superlift, RCD, and Dixon brothers will be fine

An extension is easy as pie to make for the 02/03 t-case shifter setup. The boot/bezel is another story, as Bob mentioned, it will not clear after a body lift. Thats the reason I opted to use the boot/bezel out of a 91 ranger. It doesn't hit and it still has a little room for some extra movement, I didn't have to trim it at all.
