It looks like too much money to me, it's a standard XLT with 85k miles. It books at around $16,500 in good condition for private party. I guess used car prices went up too much, lol.

The injector problem is true. I forget what it is all about but there is a good chance you will have to replace them at some point. The other is spark plugs. They are a 2 piece design and often break when trying to replace them.
Otherwise it looks nice, minus the chrome covers on stuff.
What makes me curious is that there are no plates on the truck and it appears to be private party...?
Have a look at carfax and autocheck.com
Unless it is at a dealer, it seems really odd that it doesn't have plates. Have a real good look over the truck. Also if the owner owes money on it, it can be a huge pain to buy it from him.

Is the injector deal expensive and when do they fail higher miles? The Truck is at a small dealership!

Oh, okay. Weird that they did not even put a phone number on there, whatever.
I'm not sure about the injectors, I'll see if I can have a look since I can't sleep.
Try looking around f150online.com
Just ignore through the ten billion threads about 3" spacer lifts and 24" tires, lol.

Yea the guy has a dealer license and bought it at an auction. To "flip!" It looks clean he had his dealership go through it and inspect it. It is 2hrs away though! And its a Cash only deal! Would i be better off going with an 03?

11 year / 120k mile Fuel Injector Warranty - F150online Forums

Don't get an 03. The 04+ are great trucks. The issue with the injectors is that they can stick open, flood the cylinder and hydrolock the engine. Supposedly Ford extended warranty for this for 11 year / 120k miles. I would get the VIN and go to the dealership and see if they can confirm that this truck is covered.
FYI it isn't all that common I don't think. But it is enough that Ford recognizes it, fortunately they are taking care of it though.

I would say they are much better, yes.

Go drive an 03 F150 and then an 04+. You will wonder why you even looked at the 03.

If you like it, it checks out, and you feel good about it then go for it.
I wouldn't hold back from buying it just because of the injectors. I have not heard of common issues with differentials or window regulators..?
Just treat it as any used vehicle and give it a thorough test drive drive and have a real good look at everything. More than likely the smaller dealer did no/little maintenance, so check all fluid levels and colors, etc too.

Yes the frame is MUCH stronger than before. Hardly any frame flex at all.
It does have a side effect that you occasionally may get a shaking rear end if the tires are unbalanced. The stiffness combined with a bad tire sometimes can make the corner of the bed appear to bounce around 50-60. I had this problem for a while but it was a poorly balanced tire. No problems now.

Not a crazy amount of flex, but considering that it is a half ton suspension it is a good amount. Notice the body lines. The ranger frame would be twisted like a ****.

Yea I want an 04+ so bad. I found one for pretty cheap, but it has a lot of miles, not to threadjack, but lets see if I can find the ad.

edit:Nope ad isnt there anymore. It was an 06 I believe for 10,998 or something. It had something like 160,000mi on it though.

Way to much for a private sale IMO. looks more like a dealer price. Go find you a low mileage 06+ FX4 and be done with it. They have so much better options compared to a XLT
