Im not to fond of a bl but i really have no other option atm as im not paying 2k to lift a ifs and i cant find a solid axel let alone not have my truck not driveable for numerous days. My concerns are the exhaust looking weird hanging down, do i have to take my carpet out to get to the cab? And i cant use my alcoas on 12.50 wide tires and no one makes 33x11.50x15s, i really like the alcoas i even though about 33x1050 but i dont know i have seen pics and it is funny looking. What problems have you guys ran into when you installed it? I dont really want a bl but i have no other option but to leave it the way it is now, i just have the tbars turned in.

 

Yes you do have to pull the corners of the carpet up to get to the cab bolts, its not hard though. Some members have ran 12.5" tires on Alcoas, its not really recommended and not the greatest for wear but it is possible.

I didn't run into any problems at all with my body lift, I had the exhaust cut behind the axle from stock anyway so it wasn't a problem.

 

Does the 12.50 wear faster? Does it look funny on the sidewalls with a 7" wheel? Would cutting the exhaust make it louder? I like the sound of it now im pretty sure its stock but others level 2s ive heard sound just like it, i wounder if they have a different muffler?

 

It will wear a bit faster and you'll have to run lower pressure to get a good tread contact. I'm running 35x12.5x18 on my stock 18x7.5" rims on my f150 though without issues. Tread wear is great!

 

Hmm interesting, as long as my chances are still the same of a bead poping off wheeling ill do it, the alcoas are nice wheels and id hate to part with them.

 

the 33s on alcoas still look like pizza cutters lol the wheel itself sits so far in because of the backspacing

 

cutting your tailpipe will not change the sound. I cut mine after it goes over the axle to give it a stock downturn

 

Any pics of 33x12.50s on alcoas? I tried searching but no luck. Its still gonna be wider than a 1050 so if they fit and there are no problems that would be great. One other thing why do they not reccomend 12.5 on a 7 inch wheel?

Here's a somewhat local guy to me, Brandon. He's not on RF though....but he's running a 6" suspension lift, 15x7 Ford Alcoas, and 33x12.50 BFG KM2's...

Too sucked in for my liking....my biggest complaint and really, only complaint about those wheels is the width and backspace.

 

Maybe its just me, and i havent seen many but it looks just fine. Does it rub inside or something because of the back spacing? How long am i looking at installing a bl? I want to fab my hooks so i can still use them and also my rear hitch, and will probably end up cutting the exhaust so it doesnt hang down. I have never installed one before.

 

First timer can complete it in a weekend. I did the majority of it in a weekend and then finished up the bumpers the next weekend. I was stopped for a large chunk of Saturday waiting on tools though. and I was working by myself for the most part.

 

Whats the hardest part to do? Im guessing the bed will be easy but im not so sure how i pull my carpet up? Ughhh i really hate ifs if only the darn lifts werent so expensive.

 

The hardest part for me was getting the body bolts off by yourself.

 

The bed is the easiest part IMO. I agree, the body bolts are the hardest part. Luckily I had taknotes come over and give me a hand with that part.

 

Yeah I had my foot holding the pliers to keep the bushings from turning and my hand reached into the truck cranking the bolt out

 

What did you guys do about the exhaust hanging and the rear receiver?

 

the truck posted looks good for 33's and alcoas. maybe it's when there is fender flares involved it looks too recessed.

i just looked at the OP's info and hand. he'd have those flares correct?

would he be able to run spacers/adapters? just an inch or so to give it that pushed out look and sit flush with the flares?

 

Do they make 15x8 alcoas?

 

I cut the exhaust after it went over the axle and had the hitch modified to make it look stock, cutting 3" out of it

Wheres the cheapest place to order a bl from? Summit is 212 i though i read somewhere you can buy them for 150 but i cant find where.

 

How would the skid plate look with a body lift? Does mounting a bumper and winch need alot of work?
