Ford Ranger+tool box=stupid?
How does everyone here feel about Ford Ranger with bed mounted toolboxes? I'm debating getting one. I seem to always need a ton of straps, chains, and tools, and gets to be too much to keep in the cab without getting cluttered.
But having a toolbox seems like it would just take up the entire bed of the truck. So I'm torn.

i got one too.. mine's an older one but its metal and it fits 2 hpi savage RC car's perfect!!! i took mine off because i had to haul a buddy's quad then i just didnt put it back in and now i have the canopy on the truck. i had mine held in with a ratchet strap because i couldnt find the time to bolt that s.o.b down. wish i had a picture of it when it was on the truck but i can get a pic of it sitting on the shop floor!!
EDIT:
eventually when the canopy comes off again i'll put my axe and pellet gun in the toolbox just to get them out of the backseat. . i might carpet the inside of mine not sure yet. got mine for free so i aint complaining!!
yes my pellet gun lives in my truck!!!

i got a small ghetto one for somethin smaller then a ranger in my bed. the top is flush with bed rails, and it just sits on the bottom of bed. have a ratchet strap on there holding it in. i love it. keep my fishing supplies (also have two more poles in a gun rack in my back window) and some misc things in there.

I just actually built one for my truck. It was my senior project. Anyways, the coolest part is that it doesnt bolt down, it just has stakes welded to the sides so they drop right into the stake hole pockets on the bed rails. somebody could lift it out, but its not as pretty as a professional one and its got maybe $75 worth of stuff in it. Easy to remove to haul big loads and keeps my backseat clean:)

I used to have a ****ty black plastic one that didn't go over the rails and then got rid of it for a tonneau and like the tonneau much better. I don't carry tools with me or anything since I could have whatever I want brought to me with a phone call or two anyway, plus my dads got AAA so I can just have him show up and get my truck towed for free. So much more room with the tonneau and then if I need all my bed space I can just roll it up in a second.
