How to I disconnect the vacuum tube? I want to seafoam my engine but im afraid of damaging the line. I tugged at it alittle and it didnt budge. Also, please share any tips about seafoam, first time doing this.

 

It should have a metal hose clamp on it... use some pliers to squeeze it and move it down.. then twist the hose and pull.

Suck the seafoam in really slowly. When I did it on my honda if you sucked it in too fast it would kill the engine and you'd have to restart it. Read the directions.

 

So suck it in? not pour it into the hose? thx for your help

I put mine in a small plastic bowl. Then slowly dipped the booster hose into the seafoam solution waited for it to recover then dipped it again and so on and so on.

 

Yup, that's exactly what I did.

When it starts to suck it up into the engine it will noticeably affect the idle... bogging it down. Once it sort of recovers... let it suck a little bit more in. Do not just pour it in the hose.

Have lots of fans... the garage door open.. and warn the neighbors. LOTS of smoke.

 

I just stuck a small funnel in that vacuum line and slowly poured in the Seafoam-that worked pretty well.

Then spray some Wd-40 or Pb blaster on there, and spin that MF'er around.

You can't get needle nose pliers behind it? I'm pretty sure you can pull that "white cap" out. Its just a check valve.

you can drill a hole in the brake booster to make it easier.


....don't do that but use your head to get the clamp off

 

dont be a *****. vise grip the white part,pull it out of the booster, mega easy, E-BRAKE ON!!!!!! it has reverse barbs like a fsh hook but just pet some muscle into it, then with it facing up pour seafoam in, put your finger over the top part of the seafoam bottle with only a small gap open and pour. your vacuum hose should be enough force to suck it in in a slightly "misty" form. just pour and for safe measure have bud in cab slightly raise revs to 2K or just below if it starts to choke. then when your done just shove the white plug back in.

but do not dip the hose in the ****. its tip-toeing the line on temporarily hydro lock and will cause your next few minutes of revs to sporadic and wild. pour it so you have control over how much is going in.
