You have an fx4 so it should be a 31spline....unless they did something weird for Canada. It if is a 31spline, the expo brakes will bolt up, if it is a 28spline, you'll have to do a little modding to the brackets for it to bolt up.

easy way to tell is look at the diff tag and if it has a 2nd tag stating its synthetic fluid only is the only 31 spline 8.8 in a ranger

I am looking at conversion's online now. My brakes are starting to feel funny and pulse a little bit. And i just replaced the front pads last year and the rotors were fine at the time, so i am suspecting the rear drums are on their way out and want to upgrade to discs rather than replace the drums. What do you think is the best route?

Mustang rears are the best route. Don't waste your time with expos.

And Stone, sorry, i had thought all fx4s had the 31spline axle.

easiest cheapest replace drums from the backing plate forward..

but worst thing with a Ford any with drums is the wheels cylinders most rangers only last for like 40k if that especially Northern trucks

I put 70k on my silver truck and went threw 4 sets of them...

i would rather have disk but its up to you

basically all the backing plate out.. you dont need the tubes or axles or anything else

on RPS there is a way of installing mustangs it involves hacking off an ear on the mounting plate.. for the 28 spline

Basically just cut the bracket up, or you can buy a new bracket that has the four bolt holes. The caliper needs to move inward a little that is why you have to cut it up.
