save your money. buy a k&n replacement filter.

air intakes do NOTHING for a stock motor. especially a 2.3

i noticed NO difference on my 4.0 i wouldnt have even bought mine if i didnt get it for so cheap. the only plus is you dont need to buy new filters, you just clean the old one

 

Not trying to be *******s, just being honest. A 2.3 wont really gain anything from that.

well it's a christmas gift so that's how im getting it. i dont really care about no gain i would like a little better fuel economy it might give me and exhaust tone but i dont really like all the save your money crap you guys are giving me cause it's not my money so knock it off

It wont help man. You will suck in all kinds of hot air and it will actually hurt performance. If it was some kind of shielded box I'd say go for it but its just a cone at the end of a pipe. I had a K&N FIPK on my 03 4.0 and it was the biggest pile of **** because at had some crappy heat shield that didn't do anything. My truck felt super slow after sitting in traffic with the ac on.

hell....if it was a gift, i'd take one just for show cause my engine bay is super clean and it would be a nice touch
