Need Help on Finding an Exaust part.
bought a flowmaster 40 series delta flow muffler. 2.25" center inlet / 2.25" offset outlet. anyways the 2 bolt flange that is right after the cats is where i want to start my install from. 2 issues one its 2" O.D. tubing, i could use a tailpipe expander to make it fit nice and sung for welding onto the muffler and 2 ford has some goofy bends that are just going to screw with how i want to mount it. so what im looking for is a new 2 bolt flange section that has the flange plate and is belled on the end for the flange fitting. id like to find something at least 6" long and 2.50" I.D so i can weld it onto my muffler. any ideas where i might find something, jegs and summit sofar haven't yielded anything. any ideas where i might find exaust parts?
hopefully it makes sense....

confused....
lol. You can always eliminate the 2 bolt flange, and cut just before that flange, and put in a 3 bolt flange, and then a header reducer followed by a short chunk of straight 2.25" tubing then your muff. but you should have got a side/center muff(offset in, center out)....if you had that muffler, no bends would need to be required.

i don't need bends, center in keeps the most of the muffler tucked up into the frame. and offset out lets me make a right turn to exit my exhaust out in front of the tire.
there ain't much room to work with on the cats where the flange is welded onto them. plus its California i don't want to touch my cats at all cost.
just looking for the one side of the flange in 2.50" i.d. tube to go on with my own exhaust setup.
wish it was a flat faced 2 bolt flange and not a damn ball and socket like set up.
guess ill have to wilt till Monday to goto a muffler shop.... don't think any are open on Sundays.

The passenger side flange thats against the engine is a PITA to tighten, gotta crawl sorta under the truck and reach up, while youve got a hand poked through holding a wrench to lock the nut in while your tightening it.. im tempted to jsut weld some bolts onto the flange so i can tighten it at will

you need that spring loaded flange. if you remove it and make it a solid pipe you will soon be putting manifolds on it and repairing the broken bolts in the cylinder head.
the vibrations from the exhaust system will loosen the Y pipe to manifold bolts and could rip the manifolds away from the engine over time. i have seen this over and over on rangers.

i found a mexican exhaust shop open this morning and had him make me one in 2.50" tubing. cost me 20 bux but i got a 3' tube made so i have plenty of material to work with.
and yes i know i have to use the spring bolts.....not like they were doing much springing anyways ford had mine bottomed out. meh what ever ill have them springy when im done.
