HID's installed in '03
WOW. Holy crap. I mean, just damn. It got them installed this afternoon and sat around waiting for it to get dark and go pickup up the pizzas. These things KICK ***!!! I drove several miles up a narrow windy country back road to my buddy's house afterwards for pizza etc etc. It was like i took the sun with me. I have both the 130w pro-comps disconnected right now so it was just the HID's. They put the big *** 130w pro-comps to shame. I could see more and better with these than I've ever seen in any vehicle ever before. Hell, you couldn't even see the difference turning the fog lights on and off and they are 9005's. These HID's, they are 35 watts and its like I have 500 watts of off-road lights on the truck now.
While we were all up there, we had to drop the pizzas and go to, of all things to ruin a Friday night, a cardiac arrest on the other side of town. Let me tell you, these lights made that road so much easier. I could see EVERYTHING for as far as the eye could see during the day, and this road sucks.
I'll take pictures and video tomorrow.

hope you re aimed your headlights. HIDS are nice, but think about the poor guy driving towards you, being blinded. also, HID headlights require a "projector" beam. so, if you haven't converted your stock housing to a projector beam, you are not in compliance with the law. hope a cop doesn't get blinded....

Improperly aimed headlights or poorly designed HID bulbs will blind oncoming traffic. Mine were properly aimed to begin with and with HID lamps that are in the right place in the housing, they don't blind people.
There is no law stating I have to have projector style light housings. There is now law saying anything about adding HID lamps to my truck. Thats an internet rumor you've picked up over time. The only applicable laws are about COLOR and AIMING so you don't blind people on low beam. Mine are white (4500k) and they don't blind people on low beam.

Sorry but that is all incorrect and totally unsubstantiated. They are not blinding anyone on low beam. All the traffic around me had no problem with them. My other friends that were going the place I was had no problem with them. And I was in the company no less than 5 police officers last night as well and none of them seemed to think I was blinding anyone.

I put my camera on my dash-mount...... Yes, i have a dashcam. I was hoping it would make a nice HID demo. But unfortunately my camera's video mode leaves a lot to be desired in the dark. If i had a saved video from my old headlights, it would be a nice comparison. But by itself, it doesn't do it justice. I'll have to do it with a real video camera later on.

just like spinners and fart cans.. nothing anyone can do about it.. once you start policing modifications, where does it stop? I never want to drive a “people’s car”.. HIDS are nice for the driver but not for oncoming traffic.. I would love to have HIDS but light performance is not on my priority list.. I'm not a QFL.. looks good though!
