need opinions on a wrecked truck

my friends dad has had a wrecked 2000 xlt 3.0l auto ext cab step side bed for about a year and half after his son rolled it. he said he would take a $1000 for it. there are several things on it that i would use. i would swap the axles to upgrade to 4.10s, torsion bars to get #1, i need a cluster out of it. and maybe a few other things. do you guys think it would be worth buying and then trying to sell the rest for parts or scrap?

How bad was it rolled? Cause the axle and torsion bars might be toast.

Well, if you can salvage all of the things you want, I'd say it would definately be worth it. How many miles? I'm sure the trans, and motor are good too.

I can get a rolled Explorer with a complete 5.0 drivetrain for $800. $1000 is too much.

You can pick up a good used axle for $200, new bars for $150, and cluster for $50. If its rolled, probably the only parts you are going to be able to sell are motor/trans and interior. It won't be worth hassle of trying to sell an almost 10 year old 3.0, and I doubt you would make anything off it anyway. Save yourself some time and money and just buy the parts you need.

im not sure how many miles are on the motor probably over 100000 i would guess the transmission is a rebuild with less than 10000 miles on it.
