HOPEFULLY i saved a life today!!
I was comin back from bamachips in jasper, and was drivin back down AL HWY 69 which is a back hwy like many we have here. Rolled up on an accident that had just happened. there were a few vehicles already stopped about 50ft or so ahead of me and debris in the middle of the road and a guy walkin back my way. I rolled down my window and asked if everyone was ok. He said IDK this guy just side swiped my 3 car trailer and went into the woods and im goin to check on him. So i backed up into a lil gravel road off the hwy behind me to go see with him. Came up on the F-150 and the drivers door was open, bags deployed, and the passenger door was bent out. I walked to the drivers side and he went to the pass. there was no one in there. He was ejected from the truck about 10ft or so. I checked under and surrounding area to check for a pass but didn't see anyone. the man was unconcious but breathing. went back to the road and called 911 and there was a lady headed down to check too. By the time i got back he was goin into shock and i told the lady to go get blankets and i had some gloves and first aide stuff in my truck. He stopped breathin and i administered CPR for about 5 mins or so IDK till the paramedics got there.....what a day!! lol

Well i'd like to think if it was me layin there and needin help that people would do the same. It really shook me up for awhile afterwards, but durin, my trainin kicked in and that all i was consentrated on. I was really scared to move him at first because i didn't know if he had any back or neck injuries but if there not breathin there life is more important than that at that time. I'm just happy that i could be there to help.

dang thats a crazy story. what a life saver you are lol
kinda had an incident like that a few years ago. i was driving to work and a car had flipped off the freeway onto the road that i drive onto to get to my then job at the local waterpark(yes i was a lifeguard) and i got there right after it happened and so did some other life guards and one of my co-workers had pulled a guy out of the flaming car and the guy was burned really bad throughout his entire body. paramedics arrived right after and we all went to work late. that guy was later on the news about what he did.

i've been a firefighter/emt since i've been 18 so i praise anyone who gives the extra effort when most people stand by and do nothing.

Congrats on helping out your fellow man. Its sad today that some people won't help out others or can even be afraid to cause of liability reasons.

HE GOT SUED FOR RESUSCITATING SOMEONE??????? WHAT JUDGE WOULD BE AN IDIOT LIKE THAT? NO WONDER NOT MANY PEOPLE WANT TO HELP OUT ANY MORE. good job though on assessing the situation and jumping to make sure the person or persons involved in the crash were located and treated for the conditions.
