EXACTLY i did not give them permission to put it on a lift to do the inspection. they didnt ask. all i was told was i was getting a fan. They called and said i need a hub i was ??? why would you be looking at the drivetrain aren't you focused on the fan.
I bet it actually went something like this....
the tech got the ticket with the fan needing to be replaced. Started the truck to pull into the bay and didnt hear anything at first, so he took it on a quick test drive to verify if the truck needed it to be done. While on the quick test drive, he noticed the roaring noise comming from a bad wheel bearing.
The tech is looking for stuff to fix, its pretty common at most places. . Hell, Id be happy if they wrote it up. If/when it fails, it could lock up that wheel and you could loose control of the truck.
now, if they went ahead and replaced the wheelbearing without you giving the ok.. well, that is wrong. When I worked at a dealer, i saw multiple people doing this and I would lol when they had to take the new part back off
