Locking 04 Headunit for Shipping

I tried searching, but i couldn't find the thread.

How do i lock my stock 04 headunit for shipping, so it won't get damanged.

And to my knowledge, you don't have to unlock it right?

Thanks in advance

for the 04 headunits, there is a feature, where you can lock it for shipping, so the internals will not get damaged during shipping.

kind of like other cars where when you unplug them you have to have a code to make it turn back on? I never knew they would put a feature on so you could ship it....

I don't have the intructions, usually they are on the top of the stereo. MAKE SURE you do this. I had one shipped to me without it and it became a dud and had to get it replaced.

Yeah, i saw the post Parker. I searched like crazy.

Here it is, so in the future, people will know.

For the 03 and earlier CD-6:
Eject all CDs and push the 1 button and scan button at the same time.

for the 04 CD-6
Eject all CDs and push the 2 and the 5 button at the same time. Then turn the ignition to ACC. Hold until it says shipping then shipping complete

It will work. The shipping mode is just to lock the trays in so that it won't move. 03 and earlier requires a shipping brace, to physically lock it.
