Got the Hitch, Is installing a *#%ch?

I had some credit on my auto zone rewards and bought a new reese model#37042 towpower hitch.
It uses the diagonal arms from the oem step bumper, Anyone install this yet on their 98-01 Ranger? just curious. DR

if its anything like a 93 you just unbolt the arms, and then put the hitch in ... should be 4 bolts on the frame as well

only reason i know this is i almost got one off at the damn pick n pull and the last big bolt i couldnt get the socket wrench in there cause of how they had the car propped up

Get some WD40 ready for one of the bolts on the driver's side. It will have an oblong sort of flange that you will need to get spun around to the opposite side to get part of the hitch in to be bolted securely. At least that is how it has been on the 3 I have done.

its a pain in the a$$ dude, make sure to have another guy, becuase the bumper goes inbetween the frame and hitch, therefore, you have to hold the bumper up and the resse up at the same time

I have done 2 of mine solo, just had to take a bolt off the frame on each side then hold up the hitch and put those bolts back in as well as 2 others. Also helps if you lower the spare.
