How do you prepare for winter?

I started a similar thread last year, but felt like starting a new one.

Just like the title states, how do you prepare for winter?

Here is my check-list.

Change/top off fluids
Transmission fluid change (not really winter related, but need to do it anyways)
Front/rear differential fluid change (probably 75w-90 for the colder weather)
Finish the bed-liner job on my rocker panels
Finish my rear bumper for a little extra weight in the rear

Anything else that im missing?

Also, would Royal purple 75w-90 gear oil be ok for year round use? Im trying to settle on a good brand of gear oil. I have an open 8.8, even though royal purple has a limited slip additive already added. Its either 75w-90 or 75w-140.

Royal Purple 75W90 will be fine year round.

I don't really do much other than my normal maintenance... just get it undercoated and drive on!

Swim suit, sunscreen, and a cooler :)

But seriously, I usually wash my truck right before it starts getting cold, 'cause that 50° winter weather freezes my hands, lol

Naughton, you really know how to make a guy depressed. It really is not to bad until it gets in the teens for a few weeks.

Yeah man, just wait until they are within distance and snap their neck. haha jk.

So Royal purple it is. Just looked at some of their gear oil, a bit pricey though.

I plan on just washing my truck more often during the winter. Im sure the bedliner will help out a lot though.

Change the oil in september and march. The mechanic also checks and tops off fluids, air pressure in the tires etc...

Wax job in august and april.

Check anti-freeze

Vacuum the interior before and after winter. I like a clean truck.

Wash once or twice a month, but weekly after road salt exposure.

Put out ice scraper into the front seat.

Fill up washer fluid with Rain-X.

I put a sweatshirt in it so that when it dips below 55* I won't freeze.
