Bama/ X Calibrator question

My step dad already has a SCT X-Calibrator for his 2006 Ford F-250 diesel. My question in can I take the programmer and have a tune put on it and have it work in my ranger. Will it mess up his tunes etc..

you would have to set your step dad's 250 back to stock before you could use it on another truck, but i believe after you do that it should work on your ranger.

the xcalibrators can hold 3. what i was trying to say though was that you can't use it on both trucks at the same time.

I get that you cant use it on the trucks at the same time. What happens to his tunes that he has on the programmer if I put one on there. Do I have to clear it before I can put mine on. Can he store them on the computer.

You would need to put his truck BACK TO STOCK TUNE. Than you can go ahead and use his xcal 2 to get your tunes burned on it. Than you can use it. But for him to use it again you would need to put yours back to stock than go ahead and repeat the process. As far as using 2 tunes for him and 1 tune for you. Well, I wouldn't try that. Just get yourself your very own tuner.

you can't have a superduty tune and a ranger tune on the same tuner. one tuner works for one car

Yes. one tuner works for one car at one time. you can probably hae a superduty tune and ranger tune (per se) on the tuner at the same time, but they would be coded for whichever truck the tuner's coded for at the time.
