how would I set up my ranger if I wanted to run 37x14x (haven't decided wheel size) Irok's?? I know I wanna do solid axle swap next spring. I was just wondering what lift and stuff I need to clear em and still have a decent amount of flex? i don't need rock crawler flex but enough so i'm not rubbing on every kind of bump offroad.

 

Well I mean if your doing a solid axle swap to fit them, then this isn't exactly an easy question to answer.

I mean what type of suspension are you going to do for SAS? Coils? Coilovers? Leafs? You going full width or narrowed axle? Are you willing to trim the fender at all? Maybe fiberglass fenders?

I mean there are so many variables that play into effect. It's pretty much going to come down to testing out the suspension once you get the SAS done. Obviously you'll want enough to fit the tires, but after that the amount of lift really depends on what you want to accomplish.

Look at Griggs. His SAS sits pretty low, and he fits 35's no problem.

Beards is a bit higher but he plans to run 37s so he will need it.

Personally, I'm going to get my axles assembled then put them under the truck to figure out what kind of height I'm going to need.

 

haven't decided if I want coils or coilovers... Also not sure if I wanna run narrow or full width. Any suggestions? Yes I am definitely willing to trim my fenders. I was just searching and not sure I want the irok's... sure they look cool and perform for what I do (a few trails but mostly deep snow, some sand and street of course but I think 37x12.5's look too narrow so thats why I was thinking irok's cause they make em wider than 12.5. I would really like 37x13 but that's not prolly gonna happen since i'm picky on tires.)

Why not Zach? I think that would be a great way to figure out how much lift you need and what axles and components to run, etc

 

could based off a certain size. say 35s or 37s. or whatever. but he still needs to decide what the truck will even be used for. that is where i would start. then what axles are available in his area

I want it to look good as possible but that's not why i'm building it... I like to hit up trails and stuff but what I like doing the most is wheelin in the snow (snow that's up to bout 6-7ft deep). I know most of you are thinking i'm stupid for wanting to do this to an 07' but I wanna be different and have a badass truck that will get good looks but yet perform the way I want my truck to perform. Plus solid axle is a lot stronger, I know i'm gonna break this ifs crap.

I love leafs. Simple and easy to set up, yet can be made to flex almost as good as coils.

Again it depnds though. Are you doing trails in the snow? rocks? or just feild snow wheeling it? You could limit uptravel and go with i would say 8" of lift.

 

roads and trails in the snow... no fields for me. stuff in the mtns.
