Anodizing your parts

Buell Forum How to: Anodize your buell

Only works on Aluminum parts... not sure what you can do on a Ranger... I thought I'd throw this here just in case someone has some other projects this can be used on.
Enjoy

If you want clear anodize you just seal it in hot distilled water after anodizing without the dye.

Most clear coats will not adhere well to sealed anodize. If you dry the part after anodizing you can immediately clear coat it without the hot water seal. If you wait too long the anodize will partially seal itself by absorbing moisture out of the air and it will difficult to bond to. There are industrial clear coats that are designed to bond to aluminum anodize but they are not, in general, available to the public. Clear powder coat works well but why bother to anodize if you plan to powder coat.
