mounting my new toolbox? help.

I just picked up a Kobalt mid sized truck toolbox from lowes this morning for $155, wanted the low pro one but im tight on cash and couldnt afford it so i just bought the regular one, im still happy with it, although i got it home and i found no mounting hardware for the damn thing only two strips of this stirefoam type stuff? How do you mount this bad boy up? do i got to drill holes in my bed?

I drilled 2 holes in the box because that was acceptable for it to be able to get a warranty in the future, used J hooks and it caught the lip of the bed and no need for holes in the truck.

they are like them but definetley not what your thinking of they are similar though its like a straight j just like that letter not with the bends like you are thinking of and they also have to be fined thread so you can put a bolt on them

I bought my toolbox from lowes and they had kits sitting right next to the boxes that don't require you to drill into your bed.

how long did it take for you guys to mount it up? doesnt look too hard, also how much do j bolts usually cost at the hardware store .. hell im thinking i might just head back to lowes and pick up a mounting kit which is what i should have done in the first place..

Get the Grip-Rite thing from Lowes, should be right beside the toolboxes!

This is what you want right here, your box is designed to use it:

Shouldnt take you more than a half hr to mount it, if that long.

J bolts should probably run you no more than 3.00 a bolt (if you get stainless steel) cheaper if you get non special metal. (keep in mind i'm going by costs in my area)

Line it up where you want it, mark where your going to drill the holes in your tool box for the J hooks to go through, remove it, drill, put back up, and bolt it on. Done.

Nope no holes, no bolts. You see on the edges of your toolbox theres 4 little slots? You put the bolts that are included with the Grip Rite thru those holes, using washers into the Grip Rite. So all you need to mount it is the Grip Rite and your good to go!

My old box came with two j hooks......but I used 4 total. Its okay if you bend the rail a little bit....the rail lip is an easy fix, just bend it back if you pull the box out.

My new box, I use 6 3/8 bolts though the rail for the headache rack and tool box.

Oh yeah definitely, it comes with bolts so all you need to do is drill the holes.
