just saw something

well... a few minutes ago i decided to crawl up under my truck to make sure that there are no leaks and stuff. but when i got under i noticed a new leak, it is where the tranny meets the back of the engine. its hard for to tell because im partly colorblind... but would that be trans fluid leaking from there, or oil?

Sounds like your rear main seal may be weaping (oil). Do you have an auto or 5 spd.

its the rear main seal... unless its leaking really bad dont worry too much since you have to remove the tranny to repair it and its not worth it imho

Yeah at this point the rear main is just weaping, no big deal, just keep an eye on your oil level, if it gets real bad and starts to noticeably leak, then ide have it checked out because they are a project to change

My 98 has the same problem with the rear seal, nothing to worry about doesnt drip oil or anything. I always park in the same spot in my driveway for about 2 years and not a single drop of oil there from my truck where the rear seal would be parked on.
