You dont really need a witness, they should be able to tell by the damage what happened. She was at fault. Her insurance should cover you also, because it was her fault.
Yes, get someone on the phone and get it figured out.

I'm going to try to get some kind of info out of the lady, I'm hoping she actually witnessed it. It's all I have going for me. If she claims to not have seen it or bull****s and lies. I've got a conspiracy they were working together. I swear I saw her wave her to go. She didn't once ask if I was ok or even talked to me. She talked to the women the entire time.

I'm losing my mind here. I don't know what to do. I can't afford anything. I'm broke as it is just scraping by. Any information would be appreciated.
your insurance should cover your vehicle, regardless of what it is or it happens... you insure the vehicle... so if it's over any limit, it should be over the repair limit, and should be giving you a cheque for the value... that being said, if it's not your fault, your insurance shouldn't be shelling out a penny... unless you are to have your insurance company pay for it up front, and they get reimbursed for it after... i would talk to a supervisor or someone who can give you an answer... if you have collision coverage, your vehicle gets fixed, that's the purpose of insurance

I saw hastle your insurance company. That's why you pay them. Insurance in case something does happen, and it's also the law. You didn't cause this, and you couldn't avoid it safely, you need to say something. Speak up, and don't be afraid to get mean. Sometimes that's what it takes for them to realize how mad you are about this.

I saw if it's totaled, buy it back! Spend a few hundred on it and fix it up and make it a trail/trophy rig!

That is the most important part here. ALWAYS call the police. The report saved my *** when some idiot rear ended me not paying attention.

around here, i think you have 48 hours to report it to the police, and get a vehicle damage sticker, which looks somewhat like this

without the sticker, a body shop is not allowed to fix a vehicle with more than $1000 damage, without first contacting the municipal police service, and having the hit and run task force do a full investigation

the fact your insurance won't cover because it's "over the limit" is bull. you pay for it. they cover you or the other person's cover you. period. the only times i kno of people paying out of pocket is when the owner wants extra. (insurance pays for stock bumper, you want arb. you pay difference)

also, all the left turn accidents i've seen it's always the person aking the turn who is at fault. you can't make a turn unless you kno you are clear. if you do and cause an accident, you get a ticket and are at fault.

fight it man!

I finally got my claims rep today. Did the whole shebang. Apparently the letter is required by law and sent out automatically.
She recorded my side of the story and details about the surrounding. I really hope I got my story straight.
I'm hoping it's settled for a 30/70 fault or higher.
I doubt I will get much for the truck, 500 if I'm lucky. I mean it's immaculate as far as structural, no body rot, no frame rot, only the typical rear shackle problem which has been fixed. The body is beat, dented and just abused.

Lol, you can buy them new off harborfrieght.com for 15 a piece. The only down side is the chrome is poor quality and I would advise painting them right away before they rust.

go on kijiji/craigslist/autotrader/buysell, what ever websites you can find, find comperable models of the same truck, similar years, same packages, similar mileages, take those prices in when you go to settle on how much your truck is worth... with the additional cost of your parts you put on... fog lights ect... basicly, you want to settle for an amount that will replace the truck, completely, with a vehicle that has the same capabilities and features. that's what you bought, the accident was 0% your fault, so forget 30%... and as a result, you should come out of this with a truck that is as capable or better than the one you had to begin with!

Well I can't catch a break.
The insurance came out that it was 100% her fault after getting the witness' side of the story and it matched mine. So they were going to check out the damages tuesday. SO yesterday in the snow my driveshaft support bearing exploded and caused my driveshaft to literally shake the truck like an earthquake at any speedover 10mph. I managed to get to autozone and get a new one and installed it, easy enough considering there was 18" of snow and it was still coming down. So $75 later it's fixed.
WELL!!!
Today driving home I noticed my temp guage pegged out at max. Pull over and she's taking a very very heavy pee on some poor gas stations parking lot. It was coming out faster than I could pour it in. It's coming from where the trans meets up with the engine. I'm guessing the main seal. My father in law said just to it to my shop, it's probably a freeze plug, which I doubt, there was always leaked from that spot, but the excessive vibration caused by the drive shaft must have put the final nail in the coffin. So now i'm out another $75 for the tow to the shop.
So I've got geico coming to shop sometime in the next week to total it. I called them reschedule and she said it's most likely total so they would either just take it and tow it from the shop after i take my belongings and go from there, or meet me at the shop. I chose the later option seeing as I still have $600 worth of tires on it and with less than 10K miles on them. They wouldn't let me take them off if they were to tow it.
Tomorrow I'm going to check to see if it was a freeze plug, but I think after this I'll just scrap it and try to get another truck.

i guarantee it is not your rear main seal! 100% guaranteed! rear main seal does not hold water it, it holds oil... if you have water coming out of your rear main seal, the seal it's self is the least of your worries...

i would put money on the fact that it's a frost plug... here's what probably happened... you had a high water concentration in the radiator, your rad froze (happened to me several times) your block may have also been partially frozen... the increase in pressure in your water system, caused by the truck now being hot, in addition to the pressure from the frozen coolant, was too much for the frost plugs... to top it off, your rad and upper rad hose were frozen, so it couldn't vent the pressure out the rad cap...

I figured that after I did a little research. But still, getting to it will be a *****, but, I can't imagine why it froze. One being it hasn't dipped below 15 degrees. I run mixture of like 60 coolant 40 water. And I drove for over an our straight before and it was running just fine. Wasn't until I stopped at a store and shopped for about 20 minutes and then drove again.

I just want this to be over and done with. Just get the truck out of my sight and let me get a new one.

rad could have froze when you were in the store... 20 minutes is more than enough time when it's cold... 15 is i think the same as about -12c and that could do it, but a 60/40 mix shouldn't... could be t-stat

I just find it hard to lock my tires up at all. It's only got rear abs, and i've never felt anything weird in the pedal. This thing, the damn abs kicks in with just a tap of the brakes. My truck I've got to stand on them to lock up anything.

So i'm in the market for a newer ranger.

the R-ABS never worked well... ever... i've had several vehicles with it... and been able to lock up all 4 tires on almost all of them (my f-250 was a little more difficult... had like 11inch diffs or something like that

lol, back home, fire engines were the safety green colour... same as the new safety vests, for construction... they painted them red, for a nastalgic type feel... but less than a year later, had to paint them all back to the green/yellow... the reason being... the colour of the vehicle caused people not to recognise them as an emergency vehicle... apparently the giant semi truck with a hydrolic ladder on top, and flashing red and white lights didn't give it away...
