Michael, your's looks nice, just like mine, only different.

The only thing I don't like about mine is the cost per mile calc on each line. It calculates the # of miles you report on the next fillup divided by the previous # of gallons. This works OK, until you have a partial fillup before a long trip, and that results in my .42 cents per mile one time, and $0.03 the next time. But the overall average at the top is 100% accurate.

I'll have to take a closer look when I find a sec, but every sheet I've ever used requires you to either ride the tank down to a specified point every fillup and divide the miles driven since the last fillup divided by the amount pumped at the PREVIOUS fillup (how far you got on that gas) OR to fillup to a given point every time and divide the miles driven by the quantity pumped at THIS fillup (how much gas you used on the last segment). Personally I prefer the latter as it's impossible (in my experience) to find a gas station immediately at the same point in every tank.
I haven't entered the figures in yet, but this last weekend I did some poor tank management. I ended up on empty while up in the resort area where I ski. Usually I buy as little as I can, including fuel up there because it's a good 10-20% more expensive. Unfortunately I needed fuel badly, so I pumped $10 worth just to get back to civilization. I will now have a large dip and a large spike in my MPG figures. I figure it averages out in the long run, but it will effect things in the short term..
I've yet to figure a way around this..

All you have to do is fill the tank every time. and it will be 100% accurate.
Since I drive 67miles a day JUST for work... thats every 3 days lol.
The other thing you can do is average the last 3-5 times and you will get a much more accurate number if you like to just toss in 10$ or whatever
sometimes you pull your hair out trying to design a perfect spreadsheet..
its frustrating lol.
