heavy duty ranger
hey guys i just went and got a 2003 ford ranger edge 3.0 v6 2x4, this is my first ranger and i bought it for a hobby i was wondering if anyone had any ideas to make this truck a little more heavy duty, i was wondering about diffs, lift kits intakes or any other performance part i could look at, also if anyone had any ideas of what i could invest in for this truck to make it heavy duty, im a welder by trade so even if u guys have mods it would help!
thanks in advance

Add some leaf springs in the back. I'm not too familiar with it but I know some guys swap explorer springs in. The rear definitely sags easily. I'm not sure how much weight I had in the back in this pic, but it was sagging good. Still amazes me what these little 4 bangers can do. This is also the reason I upgraded to a fullsize.

FORD's response to you would be buy an F150 or Super Duty.
Once you have looked around the site you will find a lot of the Ranger Owners do a front SAS, Solid Axle Swap, to increase the front end durability, replace the rear axle with an Explorer or Ranger FX4, LvlII, rear axles. You can reenforce the frame in areas the rust out or crack, you will be the judge to what works for you.
How far to go will depend on how HD do you want it and how deep are the pockets !
