Two problems with Lexan, one is it scratches easy, and two I have a slider so it's not that easy to just swap it out... unless I just ditch the frame all together... which may be an option...

It may scratch easy, but it wont crack/shatter when a rock hits it. With you not having wheel wells.....it wouldnt be a bad idea to go with lexan.

Do a search on the net and you will find how to remove the scratches from Lexan. You need to use a heat gun. Be very, very careful not to over heat or get too close. Also do not let the hot tip fall off and hit the Lexan.
It works great as long as you go slow and let the heat effect it slowly. I haven't tried a hairdryer and don't know if it gets warm enough?
