Beating the Dead Horse!
Why do people keep wondering why they are not doing this and this and this to the Ranger! The Ranger is going to die out thats why they are not doing it. We are not getting any kind of new trim package or anything. No 4 door, no v8 no nothing. Be glad you got one while you could. The Ranger as far as I can tell is a DEAD END. Get over it. I went to two Ford dealerships in the past month and they had a total of one new Ranger. When I asked "Why are they selling well" they responded with "No we are not wasting our time with them and not ordering them cause they are trying to kill it off."

But there IS a new Ranger on the way... just a different platform and not related to the current one at all other than the name.
2012 is around the time it should be out. In the meantime, those two more years of the current platform will allow a surplus of consoles and bucket seats to hit the markets. (they are standard on the Sports now) so enjoy it will it lasts.

ranger is dead in 2009
ranger is dead in 2010
ranger is dead in 2011
ranger is going to be called the F100
ranger will be built in mexico and exported to the u.s. after 2011
ranger will continue with a new look, replacing the sport trac in 2012
ranger will stay the same, but have a new name
