I think my dad's had his/mine for going on 9 years now? Before and after is just about the same. She's had a tranny rebuilt, then later replaced, she's been sideways in a ditch (lol not my doing BTW), hit countless deer/ etc. I'm just now getting her and I'm really looking forward to and reeeaaaalllly hoping for many more years.

I bought mine brand new off the lot in November 2004, so I guess that makes a little over 8 years now. Currently at 152,000 miles!
The transmission failed at 2,000 miles and was replaced (a recall was issued because they put the wrong ATF in it at the factory.) I've had an oxygen censor replaced twice, and I've had a wheel bearing replaced.
It was driven by a family member for awhile that claimed the transmission fluid had been changed, at 120,000 miles I checked the fluid and it smelled terrible, later to find that the fluid had never been changed. So, I'm facing a rebuild soon, but that's not the fault of Ford or a reflection on the truck! I also have to replace the starter soon! It started going out the other day, which would have left me stranded, so I smacked it with a hammer and it started right up.. lol
When I moved to Texas, some illegal broke into my drivers side door, denting it and knocking the lock completely out, It cost $500 to fix, the body shop demanding that I go to Ford and buy the matching lock.
I've had thoughts of getting rid of this truck, but I just can't seem to do it! We've shared many sleepless nights driving the highways between Tennessee, Louisiana, Texas, Kentucky, Florida, Missouri, and all points in-between, which isn't an easy task considering I have none of the luxuries, like tilt wheel or cruise control LoL!

well the you have pretty nice drive. Specially the color of the ranger which I like more. I guess you like the boating as there are some Kayak boats on your ranger... Please share photos of that boat when you are on the water. Thanks
