roll pan questions for the flareside..

this is for a flareside bed.
where did you get your roll pan?
what brand?
price without paint?

also i would like to know a measurement from the bottom of the tailgate handle to the middle of the license plate.

i want to try and do a custom hidden hitch behind the license plate.. im gonna modify my hitch now anyways just need a measurement.

thanks...

Got mine from stylinconcepts.com and it was a Sir Micheals pan never got around to puttin it on and I ended up selling it on Ebay. I believe mine ran me around $169 w/o paint it was mainly so much bcz mine was an all steel pan. I believe u can get rollpans now for our trucks that have the hidden hitch mount built into the pan already.

just hope nobody rear-ends you, cuz your rear will just crumple with that roll pan. I guess if you got a hitch that will help....

i dont like that at all tho.. id wanna go with a roll pan with the hidden hitch, then possibly get that rear bumper gaurd thing that someone here on the site has (forget who.. it looked pretty cool tho). i figure the steel roll pan, the hitch, and the rear bumper gaurd thing are enough to stand up against.. if i get hit badly enough to get thru all of that, lol, well that's why i have insurrance.. ram away!

ha, well right now, my 01 is sitting low enough that if you hit it, you'll hit the tailgate anyway, and on my 99, i have a hitch under the pan, so you will hit the hitch

ok I can answer this question since I have a rollpan and I ran a hitch (hidden hitch) as well. The rollpan was sirmicheals but please keep in mind that it is made using a press at a 90 degree angle, so it will never match the curveture (sp?) of the tailgate. since the tailgate bows out a little bit. Please have it molded in unlike the body shop that did mine after the accident. you CAN mold steel to fiberglass using a special bondo type stuff I forgot the name. the hitch was street scene and I tihnk I paid $149 for it. I think the rollpan was $129. hope this helps.

It is VERY important that you use the correct material (Name=Fusor)when doing this, otherwise you get cracks after very little amoun of time. Here is an article talking about it...
