I've been using Mobil 1 5w-30, and changing every 5000, for some time now with good results. It's getting about time for a change, and I noticed a jug of Mobil 1 5w-30 Truck & SUV oil in the store. Do any of you know anything about this oil? The Mobil 1 web site is kind of vague...

I've done quite a bit of searching, and not found much. I have Emailed Mobil 1, but it will probably be a while before I get a response. I'll post what they say.

when i just did my oil on friday i used the mobile 1 truck and suv stuff that you're talkin about... i figured i'd give it a try.

 

I'm resurrecting this old thread to see how many miles I could get out of this oil. I've been using it, along with mobil 1 filters, since I bought my truck and I usually change it around 5k miles. Am I wasting good oil?

 

The only way to truely tell is to have your oil tested.

I'm going to say yes, since you are using a "high-end filter". It's usually the filter and its effectiveness that's the "bottleneck" when it comes to long oil change intervals with synthetics.

 

i have used this oil for that last 2 oil changes. i dont mean to, but i end up changing it at around 7k miles and it seems like i could go another 7k.

 

Thats the oil I use and I usually do a change every 5000 miles because I'm paranoid. I've heard of people going 7500 miles with no problems.
