Oil change question?

Oil change question?
we all know the famous saying, change it every 3 months or 3000 miles.
during the spring and summer now, i rarely drive my ranger and it has been in the garage for a good month now.
i will still take it out every couple weeks to keep everything working ok, but i am coming up on my 3 months here soon and have only put about 900 miles on it in 3 months.
should i change it or not since i have only gone 900 miles in the last 3 months?
i will probably put another 200 miles until october/november snow comes.

I would think you will be fine. I stored my last car all winter and drove it all summer without changing the oil. Put in Mobil 1 full synthetic 15,000 mile oil and called it a day. Read this article. I would have to agree with it. http://www.catherinesautorepair.com/news.html

I have one car that is driven about once a month. I do the oil change once a year when I take it for an inspection. It ranges from 2,000 to 3,000 miles a year in miles.
Guys using full synthetics are stretching the interval to 7,000 -10,000 between changes. I think one year is long enough though and wouldn't really stretch past that regardless of miles driven. From what I have read, it gets thicker. 20 wt oil turns to 30 wt as an example.
