When i had my CBR i had it registered in Florida and stamped on the plate was under 21 lol

 

Wow! That actually makes me glad to have gotten my license in the 90's where at 17, they gave you a test and if you passed they gave you a license and said try not to kill anybody. Man, things are way over moderated today.

 

no kidding. got my license when I turned 16. took driver's ed through the school...got a b in the class and an a in the car which got me a waived driver's exam and only had to take a written. Since then I've changed states 2 more times over 15 years and have only had to take a written exam one other time...kinda rediculus. (and that one time I aced the test...mom missed one! )

on the flip side, I did do plenty of really stupid stuff....but I made it without damaging anyone else or their property.

 

here in texas we have more rules than that. but we dont have "minor markers" lol.

Thats anyone under 20 with a learner's permit or provisional license. So if you have your full license your fine. NC has had the same laws (minus the decal thing) for a while now. It only takes 6 months to get your full license though after you have your permit.

Oregon did something like that a while back I think. Didn't affect me, I had my license at 16 so I could care less. I have seen enough teens crash cars for stupid reasons that I actually almost support the laws. lol

I did a search through google and couldn't find anything. I would imagine it's not, because you need your vehicle inspected every two years and it needs to be registered/insured. They do check your tags around here for registration, insurance and inspection either through random stops or by calling in your plate while driving. I got pulled over one day for being a week late on renewing my registration. I got lucky that the cop was cool because he could have impounded my truck right there on the spot.

 

We have plate readers in NY.The LEO's just drive past you and it automaticly checks on your reg and insurance.

 

You realize that the sticker is probably only for people who have a permit and have the vehicle registered in their name right? Probably so cops know easier that they only have a permit and shouldn't be driving alone or late at night. If you whine over this you're a crybaby idiot. NJ and NY can float away anyway, bunch of freakin douches.

Thats true, being someone from FL when I think NY I only think NYC. I forgot there are normal parts of NY.

 

I resent that statement and yet respect it at the same time Korey. There are a lot of d-bags in NJ, however there are still a number of decent human beings over here. Mostly the ones who have no affiliation with Staten Island - a good portion of the people from Staten Island are the jackasses who you see on television contaminating the state.

oo no you had to do it. i pretty much all but live in "the jersey shore" im 30 min away and my grandma lives year round in seaside. its a great place to live but the out of staters ruin it for everyone. just go to seaside during the prom season and see how many NY license plates you see full of high school douches. ruin it for everyone

 

So some of this clears up for me why you drive "through" New Jersey and not "to" New Jersey.

And on another hand, not always, but sometimes I think it would be cool to have some sort of "learner" sticker on my car just have some fun. Been driving 17 years and still learning.. hahaha... Kinda like years ago when I answered the phone at work and said "I don't know. I've only been working here for a week" when in reality I had a key to the place and had been there the better part of 3 years.

 

im suprised the ACLU hasnt taken up arms about the entire decal issue .... seems like a great way for girls to be put in danger to me

anyways, californias even worse but its only till 18, no driving 12 - 5am for a year, no passengers AT ALL unless someone over 25 is in car, brothers and sisters are exempt though.
