just like the topic says... i want to get some toyos... and the two im looking at are:

305/60R18 (32.4" overall diameter and 12" overall width) and
285/60R18 (31.4" overall diameter and 11.5" overall width)

would either/both/neither fit on an 03 xlt with a 3" spindle lift? would spacers help?

they "should" fit... not 100% sure but i think so

ive heard that 32's will fit on a spindled xlt... its more the width that im concerned about... they are pretty wide tires.

 

They should both fit, there was a guy running 32's on stock XLT suspension on GE, so with a lift you should have no problem. The biggest concern is the width, you'll need either rims with the right backspacing or spacers.. If you do go with spacers, put loctite on em.. lotsa people are against spacers because it's one more thing that can needlessly go wrong, so correct backspacing on the rims would be the best bet.

 

what should i look for in terms of good backspacing on a potential wheel i might purchase? the ones im looking at have two available offsets.. i believe are +40mm and +14mm

 

I'm no expert, but I plugged most of that info in here and it seems like +40 would give keep the wheels closer, and +14 would stick them out a little more. With a lift, a wider stance is always good so I'd go with +14, but let the smart people chime in too..

 

I have Yokohama AVS S/T 285/60R18s on my '03 4x4 XLT. The fronts rubbed on the inside mud flap bolts. I removed the bolts and they just about clear the flaps without cranking the T bars. There is a ton of room under the rear fenders so I would assume 305 would fit with ease. BTW I have Enkei 18x8.5 RT6s that have a 0 offset and both front and rear tires fit inside the wells. I will post pics tomorrow...
