Messed up resonator?

This is gonna be kinda hard to explain without pics but ill give it a shot. I was taking a peak under the ranger at the muffler today and I noticed the resonator had like a gap in it. At the point that the two halves of the resonator are bolted together it is coming apart in between the bolted areas. It's like an inch and a half gap I can stick my finger inside my resonator. So if you understand what I'm talking about, then hopefully you can answer my question. Is this gonna effect anything about my muffler?

Yep, loss of performance. And possibly, over time, damage to your valves.

Get that biatch re-connected, or maybe you need a new one.
