I'm thinking of doing my fogs now, just because currently they are so overpowered by the HID headlights it seems pointless to turn them on, but am concerned about the ballasts being exposed to the weather, and puddles lol. I have aftermarket H3 projector fogs, not the OEM ones, but I would still need a safe place for a ballast mount.

I've also read that to actually use fog lights correctly, you should turn them on and your headlights off. No one actually drives like this in fog though, and I'm not sure from the factory if you can operate this way in a lot of vehicles.

Also how good are the HID fogs in actual fog?

Thanks!

My ballasts are actually mounted almost as high up in the engine as my headlights. They mount up next to the radiator i would be suprised if weather got to them.

3000K do great in the fog. They are low to the ground and the yellow cuts through the fog.

They also make a sweet light output when combined with HID heads.

Why do people on RF assume you're inexperienced if you disagree with the community "truth." Society doesn't dictate absolute truth. Therefore, neither does community. Just because I disagree with the community does not make me wrong and the community right. I did not make my judgment on HID's based on pictures, that's asinine. I said that picture helps demonstrate why HID's dont belong in reflector housings.

You may think they're "not that bad" but if one person feels they are too bright and you are endangering them, you shouldn't have them on. I know people think my STOCK lights are too bright, because they flash me. Most people are *******s and flash their brights back. I am considerate and flash my fogs to let them know that I cant go any more dim.

But if the Ranger community here wants to continue to fuel the "pick up truck drivers are inconsiderate *******s" stereotype, then by all means, continue to do things that make you look like an ******* to other people.

If anyone has questions about my HID experience or other HID questions, I'd be glad to help out. I've said enough in this thread, but dont think that I wont mention the same thing every time someone puts another HID bulb in a reflector housing, especially on a vehicle with a ride height higher than average.

S10s? They had fluted lenses man. Id NEVER put HIDs in a car that had fluted lenses. I have HIDs on my 04 and glare isnt an issue. Rest assured that i would replace my lenses if they started to fog an cause an issue though.

I have 6k HIDs in my GT and only get flashed on country roads at night...along with every other car with SilverStars etc.

For the projector argument...I am 1.5in lower then stock currently, but at stock height I was blinded by Acuras and BMWs all the time. Multiple cars and companies have put HIDs in reflector lens cars.
