All the mud I go through, it's 2wd, 1st or 2nd gear.....even with an open rear.

This is one of the local mud areas, deep, thick mud. Look at the kid in the background his legs are stuck in it its so thick he had to be pulled out. That is my old jeep I was very stuck. I miss that thing it was kickass offroad. I think it would be impossible to make it through in 2wd.

Manual will take much more abuse than a auto trans. Although the the clutch can take a beating the clutch previous to the current one only lasted 10k kinda weird because it took less abuse than the one before it with 45k, that what I get for paying $1k+ for some yahoos to do it aholes ....

A good manual can take more abuse than an auto. A Ranger manual tranny is crap.

Components are garbage as well. Slave cylinders, Master cylinders.

Well when my truck decides to burn the 4wd computer and switch again I'd rather be stuck in 4hi than 4low. HAHA

lol i have been wheeling for a few years, with an AUTO jeep cherokee and after that an AUTO jeep wrangler. I just was asking for some guidance to make sure I am not harming anything that can avoid being harmed by simply using the right gear combination.

4low will save your clutch in many situations.

Only time I'm EVER in 4hi, is when the highway or roads are slick with snow. THATS IT. It's always 2wd or 4lo. FTW!
