i believe that. my dads buddy has one, tuned, lifted, intake, header back exhaust. that thing pulls pretty good for a truck. badass trucks if you can fix em up a bit.

I would LOVE to see a built 5.4 honestly - custom grind it, new cam's and all the insides - dump 10 grand into the engine and see where it could put ya. I wonder what woudl happen if you did somethign as simple as changed the intake/exhaust/headers and added some new injectors with a slightly higher # squirt, then did some tunes on that, figure you coudl get at least a decent chunk of power out of it.

Wow maybe the regular cabs 4.6 are cheap. I couldn't get a 09 screw 5.4 for under 33 when I was looking.

 

one of the fastest daily driven mustangs around here has a 5.4 out of an f-150 in it...not sure about all of the specs but its bad

are you sure its out of an f150? its pretty common to swap in the 5.4L DOHC motor in a mustang, (since they had them in 2000 for a short period of time)

btw the DOHC was never in a F150, only the navigator, mustang, and the GT.

 

I am going to put as much $$$ as I can into my 5.4L before it goes into the ranger. Hopefully that will get me somewhere. LOL
