Question about SL Shocks

I see some guys on here with their SL shocks in the rear mounted with the rubber boots to the top, and others with on the bottom. My question is, does it matter which way you install the rear shocks? I know the stock ones the fatter part goes to the top, which on the SL shocks would put the skinnier part with the boot on the bottom. Does it matter?

im not sure if it matters all that much but i put mine on right side up with the boots on the bottom, not sure but doesnt putting them upside down create some kind of negative effect with the fluid inside the shock?

I'm not sure, I put mine in how the old ones came off, where the fatter part is to the top, which put the boots on the SL shocks on the bottom, just curious because i see people here with there's the other way around

Typically, the boots go toward the bottom.
