my dad is a truck driver for mobil and not only do i run it in my ranger, his 150, and his boss uses it in his ranger, it has lived up to its reputation and lasted as long as they say it will and not cause any problems for the engine

I've heard nothing but good things about Mobil 1. I plan on switching to that permanently after I finish with my Auto-RX treatments.

I've got about 200 miles to go before I start the Auto RX. If I were considering the Mobil 1 Extended, I would sample it at 10,000 to be sure.

That's good advice. Maybe wait until a couple of changes have been done with the M1 and then send a sample of it @10K to the lab for analysis.

If it lives up to it thats great, but IMO i change at 3000 miles no matter what and i run royal purple oil in mine(only because i get a compnay discount-same price as other oils) with a K&N oil filter(again company discount-cost the same as a fram filter)
But i would question leaving oil in a vehicle for 15K miles-just my opinion though

there was a oil filter review and the ford Motorcraft filter turned out to be better then the K&N

I use and like it. How well my engine likes it, seems to rev more freely than when I was using MC oil, I swear my engine runs alittle better but it could just be me. I run my oil up to 10K, only because 95% of my time behind the wheel is at highway speeds for lengths of time. Never had a UOA done so....

I'm also giving credit to Auto-Rx, that stuff works!! -Mike-

I dont care what anyone says, or how much reasearch was done on it, ide change my oil at every 3,000 miles especially if your over 70-80k....its like wearing your clothes for 10 days without washing them....think about it

I used to use MC oil and filter but the when i changed oil it had a white texture to it when i drained it, havnt used it since, i have also looked at reviews and have not been able to see a consistant trend, they all fluctate to much to depend on them if you know what i mean, if they were all consistant id believe it, but dont see enough consistancy

sounds like other problems besides the oil......i bet you have a small coolant leak somewhere......oil just doesn' "turn white"

i have very close to 5000 miles on castrol gtx 5w30 dino and the engine performs the exact same way as when i changed the oil back in january. running a motorcraft filter...
oil looks fairly clean on the dipstick.

good power, mpg's ..etc etc = no complaints.

i see no reason to change at 3000 with these engines....

I've had no complaints with the 15k oil. Being in college living in an apartment, I don't always have time to chainge the oil here. I'm trying it out and it seems to work very well so far. I think I've got about 5 or 6k on it.
