What can anyone here tell me about the following Ranger? It is an XLT, 4 cylinder, manual tranny. Were black bumpers a feature on the XLT? Did the chrome wheels come with the black bumpers? Any idea what year this truck is?

That truck looks to be 06+ judging on the grille and emblems. It looks like an xl because of the non chrome bumpers.

 

06+ didn't have any metal in the bumps afaik. I agree with it looking like an XL. Those rims are optional equipment for that year. Standard was just a raw steel looking rim.

 

Thanks for info. I found out that it is a 2006. The strange thing is that it has the black bumpers yet it is badged as an XLT with the oem chrome wheels. Doesnt show any signs of being modded or changed around.
Any ideas? Was it possible to get XLT with the black bumpers?

 

Not sure if it's possible or not to get a XLT with black bumpers like that without swapping them, but it's also possible that the emblems were changed out. Sure looks like a XL model to me.

I could see some guy with a XL model looking for emblems on eBay that have XL on them, seeing XLT ones, and thinking "close enough" or forgetting his truck is XL instead of XLT. Just an idea to consider.

Do you have any original paperwork, window stickers, etc.?
