there should be 3 mounting holes in the front, one set on the right side, one set on the left.. they bolt right in there.. behinde the bumper

Not on the newer ones, they need to be drilled in.

Where would i need to drill them in? All of the tow hooks ive seen are pretty short and they dont seem long enough to come out of the bumper

You want it to look like this, this is the factory look and the factory bumper still fits fine:

your 07 xl shouldnt have the right crossmember to install tow hooks

only sport and 4x4 models have them

Those are factory but there are tons of other options for tow points.

Hey, so what about my 94? My friend gave me his TJ tow hooks so I would have a tow point on the front but we can't find any spot to mount with removing the bumper. Can some one help me out with this until I can purchase the James Duff pre-runner bumper.

I know it is not a Ranger but here is what I did for my Bronco

My front recovery points came form a 97 F150 I got them on EBAY 35 dollars shipped.

I used a factory hole in the frame for the Rear bolt.

I then Put the rear bolt tightened it down and marked were to drill for the Front hole.
Once I drilled the Front holes I marked the ¼ inch Piece of plate with the 2 Holes. I then put the ¼ inch plate up in the frame. Ran the ½ inch Grade 8 bolts thru the frame and thru the plate and tightened all of the bolts with red lock tight on all of the bolts. I don’t What those to come loose.

I don't think I have access to a drill strong enough to drill through the frame, guess I'll live w/o them, and try no to get stuck
