as far as your "vibrating" do not be alarmed at all, my dads does it too, and they told him it was just a mixture of the 2 peice driveshaft, and his limited slip. his is the sport edition. as far as MPG he is averaging 18.6 around slow traffic town. i do reccomend when you get some extra money, get the trd dual exhaust. night and day difference, and sounds pretty nice. also i love the tail lights they put on the 09, and in 09 they slightly tinted the headlights. look at 08's head lights compared to 09 you'll notice it. i couldnt tell at first until i really paid attention.

anyways, enjoy the truck, i know i enjoy driving my dads truck.

good luck.

Ah yes. I remember your truck. I have always like the older tacos as well but I wanted new. I'm not a fan of dual exhaust but I know they make the single for my truck. I'll get it later down the road. I do like my headlights and taillights over the 05-08 models. I didn't notice the vibrating until I actually opened it up a bit. I'll take it in and see what they tell me. If its an issue that can't be solved I'll just switch to a one piece shaft.

i actually forgot about that vibration, i had an 07 before this ranger and its a common problem, its when you hit the gas i remember that, i never took it in cause i read a ton of stuff about it and the dealership was never able to do anything about it cause they use the two piece driveshaft, i did hear the one piece will fix it though, are you a member on ttora.com?? or whatever that website is

Yeah I'm a member on ttora, toyota tacoma forums, toyota nation and custom tacos. LOL. I haven't read that far into just the problem being the 2 piece shaft. If there is no fix then I'll just get a Tom Woods one piece shaft.

Have fun with it. Let us know how the gas milage is in those things. Ive heard conflicting stories (cousin works at a Toyota dealer and says they SUCK on fuel, but others say its not so bad) and it sounds like you keep pretty accurate records.

I did some minor first mods this weekend. Front mud flaps are gone and got front some tint. No I can't go darker on the front because in CA any front window tint is illegal. I might go a bit darker on the back but not sure yet.

That really blows. I never had a problem with tint. (Knock on wood)

No more smog refs in CA. Any shop can sign off on stuff now.

the worst is i wasnt even on a state highway at the time, what this guy was doing on the east side of town is questionable, its nowhere near the chp station, i was just cutting thru "da hood" cause the traffic was bad after playing some disc golf, i think he seen me turning and next thing i know im lit up a block later.

glad to hear no more ref .... once i get established and can afford insurance on 2 rigs i plan to get a 4wd pickup for the weekends and a 96-05 civic hx for a daily.

either way i hope to get a quad soon, ive been toying with the idea for 3 years now but havent been able to afford it yet, my friend offered to sell me his 01 kawi 250 brute (i think) but i dont think id be happy with it in the long run cause im a bigger guy so its a tad slow

If you go for a quad you can save a lot of money on a used one. I didn't want to deal with someone else's problems so that's why I bought new.
